Job Description:

Equans is looking for two M&E Technicians, one Electrical Biased and the other Mechanically Biased, to join our team at Barnet General Hospital on a permanent basis. These are full-time roles working 40 hours per week, based on a shift pattern of 6am to 3pm and 9am to 6pm rotating weekly. There is also an on-call rota which will include working on Saturdays and Sundays. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

This role requires a thorough understanding of engineering building services installation and maintenance techniques. To apply trade skills and experience to ensure the satisfactory completion of maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, and refurbishment works.

What will you deliver?
  1. Take responsibility for all works issued and ensure attendance and rectification times are achieved. Escalate delays to line manager promptly to mitigate financial penalties.
  2. Manage assigned works for attendance and completion times, complete work orders, and update the CAFM system (Maximo). Reports should be concise and comprehensive to ensure seamless workflow.
  3. Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems and associated plant/equipment throughout the site.
  4. Maintain and repair HVAC systems, gas appliances, piped medical gas systems, steam plant/equipment, and other equipment in plant rooms, patient areas, and departments.
  5. Work will involve operating in a live hospital environment, working at heights, using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery/equipment for larger repairs. PPE and training will be provided.

Who are we looking for?
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification to Level 3
  • 18th edition certification if electrically biased
  • Experience with water and gas systems if mechanically biased
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft and CAFM packages
  • Valid driving license

This role includes a DBS Standard check; passing is essential.
