Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced LV/HV M&E Technician to support a long-term energy contract in London. The role involves operation and maintenance of LV/HV distribution, heating and electrical generation at two energy centres, with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will perform electrical fault finding, write risk assessments and method statements, and ensure permits to work are issued in line with site procedures.

Qualifications

• C&G Electrical Theory & Installation required.
• C&G Test & Inspection 2391 required.
• Electrical generation and large boiler plant experience essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CAFM systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain 11kV electrical generating plant and HTHW boilers.
• Maintain pumps, valves and water systems on site.
• Manage LV/HV distribution systems and safety documentation.
• Use IT monitoring systems and issue Permits to Work.
• Write and apply risk assessments and method statements.

Equans Embedded Energy operates multiple customer sites with large-scale embedded power capacity across the UK, providing specialist management of onsite generation for industrial processes and the ability to export to the Grid. We combine multiple technologies to meet our customers' specific needs, and provide design, build, operate and maintenance services. Our skills and expertise can help industrial businesses to achieve their carbon reduction goals.

We are experts in many technologies, including combined heat and power (CHP), biomass, and energy from waste. By locating generation on customers' sites we provide our customers with industry leading safety management, reduced energy costs and carbon footprint and assured energy security for their operational needs.

Key activities

This role supports a prestigious long-term energy supply contract in London, involving heat and electricity distribution from two Energy Centres.

• Operation and maintenance of HTHW boilers and 11kV electrical generating plant
• Mechanical maintenance of pumps, valves, water systems
• Management of LV/HV distribution systems and safety document control systems
• Use of IT monitoring systems
• Electrical qualifications required
• Willingness to undertake LV/HV AP accreditation training
• Adhere to Permit to Work System
• Maintain health and safety documentation
• Timely closure of PPMs and reactive jobs
• Understand supply contracts
• Write and apply risk assessments and method statements
• Issue Permits to Work
