Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on the EGL2 project in Peterhead. You will manage the commercial aspects of M&E packages from procurement through final account, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining client and subcontractor relationships.

The role requires NEC contract experience, strong M&E package knowledge, and the ability to work independently within a project team while contributing to cost reporting and risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience as an M&E QS on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages.
• Experience administering NEC contracts preferred.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a project team.
• Qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• RICS membership or chartership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of M&E works on site.
• Prepare, submit and agree interim applications and valuations.
• Assess and process subcontractor payments.
• Administer subcontract agreements including change management and compensation events.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and cash flow updates.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support procurement activities including tender analysis and subcontract awards.
• Negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to achieve commercial objectives.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.

We are seeking an experiencedM&E Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on the landmark Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project based in Peterhead. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure projects, supporting the successful commercial delivery of major mechanical and electrical works.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and project delivery teams, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of M&E packages from procurement through to final account, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.

What do you bring to the role?

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure, energy, utilities or construction projects.
• A strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical packages and associated commercial processes.
• Experience administering NEC contracts (preferred).
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a project team.
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Membership of RICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
