Job summary

Caval Limited is recruiting an experienced M/E Project Manager to oversee M&E works on a new-build care home development in Tweedbank. You will manage mechanical and electrical packages from installation through commissioning and handover, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring programme and quality, and liaising with the main contractor and site teams.

The role requires a solid background in delivering M&E packages on care homes, healthcare, residential or commercial construction projects,

Responsibilities

• Offer expert mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Provide support and technical guidance to site team
• Oversee the planning and scheduling of M&E works
• Verify adherence to local codes, regulations and industry standards
• Allocate resources (materials, equipment) for project needs
• Enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure site
• Conduct inspections and tests before project completion
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays and costs
• Manage procurement for M&E materials and subcontractors
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders to plan, schedule and budget
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure budget compliance
• Perform quality control and ensure electrical code compliance
• Provide ongoing client updates and resolve issues

• A background of 5 years minimum with a proven track record of success operating as a Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager or a similar position on new build/refurbishment projects
• Proven industry expertise with a track record of successfully managing mechanical and electrical packages on medium - large scale projects

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager to oversee the delivery of M&E works on a new-build care home development in Tweedbank. You will be responsible for managing the mechanical and electrical packages from installation through to commissioning and handover, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring programme and quality, and liaising closely with the main contractor and site teams throughout the project. Previous experience delivering M&E packages on care homes, healthcare, residential or commercial construction projects is highly desirable.

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment
• Conduct inspections and tests to verify that systems are functioning correctly before project completion
• Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns
• Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services related to M&E installations
• Communicate regularly and consistently with clients and stakeholders to create project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Observe and monitor the project expenditures and tracking costs, ensuring compliance with budgetary limitations
• Execute quality control measures and perform inspections to ensure adherence to electrical codes and standards
• Communicating effectively and consistently with clients, offering project updates, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction
• Identify potential risks associated with M&E systems and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on the project
• Establish and enforce quality control measures for M&E installations, to guarantee that all work complies with the necessary specifications and standards
• Supervise the on-site installation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring that all work adheres to safety regulations, meeting quality standards
• Review and approve design documents for mechanical and electrical systems, overseeing compliance with industry standards and regulations
