Projects Manager – Mechanical / Electrical
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 + Car Allowance or Company Vehicle + Benefits
Full-time | Permanent | 40 hours per week
About the Role:
Branta Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated Projects Manager (Mechanical/Electrical) on behalf of a growing building services division based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic business delivering high-quality M&E projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site teams, subcontractors, and the full delivery of mechanical and electrical installation works — including air source heat pumps, boilers, emergency lighting, fire alarms, small power, and switchgear systems (depending on experience).
The role will be based primarily at head office, with regular travel to sites required for audits, inspections, client meetings, and project handovers. A key focus will be ensuring safe and efficient delivery while maintaining profitability and high standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage engineers and subcontractors during mechanical and electrical installations.
*
Oversee compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and QA policies.
*
Monitor project financial performance and ensure target margins are achieved.
*
Conduct audits, progress inspections, and lead client handovers.
*
Coordinate materials, schedules, purchase orders, and documentation.
*
Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
*
Identify and support opportunities for additional works and future contracts.
What We’re Looking For:

Background in managing mechanical/electrical installation projects.
*
Recognised trade qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering.
*
Strong understanding of technical drawings, site logistics, and material procurement.
*
Proven leadership and project coordination skills.
*
Confident communicator with strong client-facing experience.
*
Solid commercial and contract knowledge.
*
Bonus: Established industry contacts, subcontractor networks, or supervisory experience ready to step up.
