Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the M&E design process from pre-construction through live delivery.
• Coordinate M&E design information between consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Review technical submissions, drawings and specifications for buildability and compliance.
• Chair and attend design coordination meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Work with site teams to resolve design and coordination issues in construction.
• Monitor design programmes to align information release with project requirements.
• Identify design risks and drive value engineering opportunities.
• Ensure M&E installations are coordinated with architectural and structural elements.

Are you an experienced M&E Design Manager looking to work on some of the UK's most prestigious construction projects?

Our client, a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor based in the Midlands, is looking to appoint an M&E Design Manager to support the successful delivery of major construction schemes across a range of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects.

The Role

Working closely with the Pre-Construction, Design and Delivery teams, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the M&E design process from tender stage through to project completion. You'll play a key role in ensuring building services designs are fully coordinated, technically compliant and delivered in line with programme requirements.

The position offers a mixture of office, site and client-facing responsibilities, with regular travel to projects to meet construction teams, consultants and specialist M&E subcontractors. While the majority of projects are located across the Midlands, occasional overnight stays may be required for projects further afield.

• Manage the M&E design process throughout pre-construction and live project delivery.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an M&E Design Manager, Building Services Manager or Senior M&E Coordinator.
• Strong Mechanical and Electrical building services knowledge gained within a Main Contractor or Building Services Contractor environment.
• Excellent coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to project sites.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
