Job summary

Adecco Portugal is looking for a MEP Building Services Engineer who will work across sites in London and surrounding areas from the Romford office. The role offers a £44,000 per annum salary plus a company van and benefits, with responsibilities spanning reactive and planned maintenance as well as installation tasks.

• Experience in mobile Building Services or maintenance roles.
• Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Qualified to 18th Edition; NVQ Level 3 required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault finding across commercial, retail, and residential properties.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities including EICRs, emergency lighting testing, and fire alarm testing.
• Undertake small installation and remedial works as required.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Provide high–quality service and technical support to clients and end users.
• Maintain accurate records of works completed using company systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with current regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Support mechanical systems where required and work collaboratively with wider engineering teams.

MEP Building Services Engineer

Location: Accross London Based from Romford Office

Salary: 44,000 per annum ( 21.50 per hour) + Company Van & Benefits

The Opportunity – We are looking for an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineer to join a growing and dynamic team, supporting a diverse portfolio of retail, commercial, and high–end residential clients.

This is a varied mobile role offering a mix of reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, small works, and installation projects across sites including cinemas, supermarkets, shopping centres, offices, and luxury residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault finding across commercial, retail, and residential properties.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a similar mobile Building Services or Maintenance Engineer role.
• Strong electrical maintenance and fault–finding experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• ECS Card.
• C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.
• Good IT and computer literacy skills.Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively across multiple sites.

Desirable

• Basic mechanical knowledge of building services systems.
• Experience working with MVHR units, Extract Fans, AHUs, FCUs, HIUs, and CIUs.
• Knowledge of Air Source Heat Pumps and Hot Water Cylinders.
• Previous experience working within retail, commercial, or high–end residential environments.
