Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking an M&E Consultant to undertake condition surveys and advisory work across a diverse asset portfolio in Birmingham. The role involves capturing data with tablet tools, assessing M&E systems and advising on lifecycle planning.

The successful candidate will have 2 years’ M&E surveying experience, a relevant HNC or above, and be working toward professional membership such as ACIBSE or MIET. Hybrid working is available with flexible site/office balance.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Around 2 years’ experience assessing M&E asset condition.
• Background in surveying, FM, maintenance or site-based engineering.
• Comfortable using digital data capture tools and reporting systems.
• Strong understanding of building services systems and asset lifecycle.
• Working towards professional membership such as ACIBSE, MIET or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out M&E condition and stock surveys across a range of assets.
• Capture asset data using tablet-based systems and reporting tools.
• Identify building services systems, assess condition and remaining life.
• Support delivery of lifecycle and asset management strategies.
• Attend pre-survey meetings and liaise with client representatives.
• Contribute to procurement and contractor management processes.
• Work closely with internal project and cost teams.
