Job summary

Angove Partners is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its Transactional Risk team as an M&A Underwriter. You will assess transactional risk, structure bespoke insurance solutions and support clients through deal processes alongside brokers, law firms and corporate clients.

The role offers exposure to high-profile transactions while developing commercial, negotiation and client relationship skills in a fast-paced underwriting environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 2–5 years' experience in Corporate/M&A.
• Strong understanding of M&A transactions, due diligence and transaction documentation.
• Seeks a more commercial role while handling complex corporate transactions.
• Analytical with ability to assess risk and make balanced commercial decisions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with clients and advisers.
• Commercially curious, proactive and eager to grow in underwriting.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess M&A transactions for Warranty & Indemnity opportunities.
• Analyse legal due diligence reports, transaction documentation and deal structures to evaluate risk.
• Underwrite risks and determine appropriate policy terms, coverage and pricing.
• Work closely with brokers, law firms, private equity sponsors and corporate clients throughout the underwriting process.
• Support negotiations on policy wording and coverage, balancing legal and commercial considerations.
• Develop strong relationships with external advisers and contribute to business development activities.
• Keep up to date with developments in the M&A, legal and insurance markets.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Transactional Risk team to deliver market-leading solutions.
