Electrical Authorised Person (LV/HV) – Critical Infrastructure
Dennis Johns Service Group (DJSG)
Location: London & Southeast
Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary : Competitive – dependent on experience and authorisations
Dennis Johns Service Group is looking for an experienced Electrical Authorised Person (AP) to join our growing Electrical Infrastructure Department.
This is not a standard electrical maintenance role.
We work across critical and technically demanding environments including hospitals, universities, medical research facilities, data centres, high-rise buildings and critical commercial sites.
The successful candidate will support the safe operation, maintenance and management of our clients' electrical infrastructure, working alongside our Technical Management, SAP/AP team, engineers, specialist contractors and clients.
The role will include:
Applicants should have:
HV AP experience, C&G 2391, IOSH/NEBOSH, manufacturer-specific switchgear training and experience with generators, UPS, ATS or HTM 06 environments.
Due to the nature of critical infrastructure, electrical shutdowns, switching and maintenance frequently need to be completed outside normal working hours.
Applicants must therefore be willing to undertake planned evening, night and weekend working, together with occasional emergency callout support.
Where possible, planned works will be organised in advance and shared across the team. However, out-of-hours working is an essential requirement of this position.
We are looking for someone who is technically capable, safety focused and comfortable taking responsibility as an Authorised Person.
You should be able to remain calm during faults and shutdowns, follow agreed switching procedures, challenge unsafe working practices and communicate confidently with clients, engineers and management.
Above all, we want someone who takes electrical safety seriously, does not take shortcuts and understands the responsibility that comes with being an AP.
This is an opportunity to join a developing Electrical Infrastructure Department working across HV/LV infrastructure, critical power systems, shutdown management, electrical maintenance and fault response.
For the right person, there will also be opportunities to continue developing through the AP/SAP structure and take on greater technical responsibility.
Salary and package will be discussed based on experience, qualifications and current level of authorisation.
