Job summary

• Be a team player and willing to undertake training as required.

Job description

Permanent Contract - Part Time - 6 hours and 40 minutes per week (1 hour and 20 minutes per day) 11.45am - 1.05pm Mon-Fri.

The Headteacher and Governors of this friendly and popular school wish to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and cheerful supervisory assistant to ensure the care and well-being of pupils in the dining hall and playground/field.

The successful candidate ideally will have experience of working with children, be flexible, be able to work well within a team and be willing to undertake training.

Duties include:

• Supervising children during lunchtimes in school and on playground/field
• Clearing up spillages in the lunch hall
• Wiping down and maintaining general cleanliness of the lunch area
• Communicating effectively with pupils
• Providing safe, enjoyable and creative activities for pupils and maintaining good behaviour according to the school's behaviour policy.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.
