Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a dedicated Lunchtime Supervisor in Ammanford to oversee school lunch hours, encourage pupils to eat healthily, and maintain safe, orderly environments. The role is term-time only, Monday to Friday, 6 hours 15 minutes per day, with a salary of £25,949 (including Real Living Wage Supplement).

DBS check required; basic Welsh knowledge is encouraged. An Enhanced DBS check will be completed, and the council offers pension, leave, and staff development

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Lunchtime Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of daily lunchtime routines, encourage pupils to eat and try new foods, oversee student behaviour, and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all students during the lunch hour.

The working hours are Monday to Friday and term time only, ideal to fit around family commitments and other roles we offer.

  • The ability to remain calm and build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
  • Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other catering requirements.
