Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a permanent Caretaker for a school site. You will maintain cleanliness, safety and security of the premises, and support the school's operations team in day-to-day tasks.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently. A basic level of conversational Welsh is required, with support to reach that level provided.

Qualifications

  • Caretaker role for maintaining cleanliness, maintenance, safety and security of school premises.
  • DBS check will be required for this role.
  • Level 2 Welsh language required; basic conversational Welsh expected.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, corridors and playgrounds.
  • Ensure the school is safe and secure by monitoring access to the premises and reporting issues.
  • Support the school's operations team with various tasks and projects.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.

Job description

If part time and/or term time, the full time salary quoted (based on 37hrs) will be pro-rata'd accordingly

Hourly Rate : £13.45 (Including Real Living Wage Supplement) - £13.69

Applications are invited by the Headteacher and Governing Body for a permanent Caretaker. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security of our school premises. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

You will be expected to:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the school premises, including classrooms, corridors, and playgrounds.
  • Ensure the school is safe and secure by monitoring access to the premises and reporting any issues or concerns.
  • Support the school's operations team with various tasks and projects.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.
