Job summary

Prospect House Primary Specialist School in Higher Blackley, Manchester, is seeking a Lunchtime Organiser on a part-time, permanent basis (13 hours per week during term time). The starting salary is £7,839 per annum, with a full-time equivalent of £25,185 (Grade 2). The role begins 1 November 2026.

You will support pupils at lunchtime to ensure safety, engagement and a positive break. Training is provided for personal care, safeguarding, and first aid as desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, SEND experience desirable but not essential.
• Compassionate, patient and reliable with strong teamwork.
• Willing to undertake relevant training including personal care and safe use of equipment.
• Awareness of child protection policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support healthy eating and safe environment during lunchtime.
• Supervise pupils in dining hall and playground.
• Assist with feeding, toileting, and changing where required (training provided).
• Support lunchtime clubs and activities with groups of students.
• Create a calm, positive environment encouraging social interaction and independence.
• Work closely with teaching staff and senior lunchtime organisers.
• Support with minor accidents, comfort pupils, or deliver first aid when necessary.
