Job summary

Brighton & Hove Schools invites applications for a part-time Midday Supervisory Assistant at St Margarets CE Primary School in Brighton. You will supervise pupils at lunchtime, ensure safety, and support the school rota during the meal service.

The role requires prior experience with children, is term-time only (5 hours per week), and includes 43.89 paid weeks per year. Applicants are subject to DBS check and exclusion from the Rehabilitation Act.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have previous experience of working with children, preferably in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging healthy eating and good manners
• Helping to set up and clear down the school hall ready for the lunch service
• See that any spillage is removed quickly and trays are cleared appropriately
• Assisting the children during meal time where necessary
• Ensuring the safety of children throughout the lunch break
• Actively supervising outdoor play and interacting with the children
• Supervising children in their classrooms on wet days
• Providing basic first aid
