Job summary

Schoolsworks Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Midday Meals Supervisor for Downsbrook Primary School in Littlehampton. The role runs 12:00–13:00, five days a week, term-time only, with a temporary contract until July 2027.

Support pupils during lunch, supervise play, and help maintain a safe, positive lunchtime environment in line with school policies. The post requires GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), good literacy and numeracy, and a First Aid qualification or willingness to

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade D or above.
• Experience in an educational setting is desirable.
• First Aid qualification and/or experience are advantageous.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Good oral communication and ICT skills.
• Awareness of safeguarding in schools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during midday break on school premises.
• Ensure safe eating and behaviour during lunch.
• Supervise groups in playground, field or classroom as needed.
• Encourage constructive play and social skills.
• Maintain safe environment and set appropriate behaviour.
• Attend to minor accidents and illnesses with appropriate assistance.
• Liaise with staff and attend required training.
• Carry out other duties as required by the post.
