Job summary

Wareham St Mary CE Primary School is seeking a Midday Assistant to join our lunchtime team. The role involves either serving in the servery and dishwashing or supervising pupils during lunch, while keeping the eating area clean and hygienic.

Ideal candidates will have some experience working with children and be willing to undertake training; a DBS check is required as part of pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Basic First Aid training.
• Food Hygiene training.
• Experience working with children in primary schools.

Responsibilities

• Be ready five minutes before lunchtime with the necessary equipment.
• Ensure pupils have clean hands before eating.
• Encourage good table manners and orderly behaviour.
• Clean tables, chairs and floor after lunch and return equipment.
• Work with colleagues to cover playground and classrooms during changes.
• Undertake care of pupils during lunchtime and administer simple first aid as required.
• Report any major injury to the Headteacher or Deputy.
