Job summary

Suffield Park Infant and Nursery School is seeking a Midday Supervisory Assistant (MSA) to support lunchtime routines and promote positive eating habits for children. The role involves supervising lunch, assisting indoors and outdoors, and helping to create a social, relaxed lunchtime atmosphere.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 12:15–13:30, for 6 hours 15 minutes per week, term time plus 1 week. This temporary post runs until 31 August 2027 and requires an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Experience with Early Years or Key Stage 1 children.
• Passion for working with children.
• Ability to support varying SEN needs including speech and language needs.
• Ability to apply strategies as advised by the team.
• Ability to support positive behaviour.
• Effective communication and collaboration with school staff.

Responsibilities

• Support children during lunch to promote positive eating habits.
• Assist indoors and outdoors to support children’s needs.
• Collaborate with the school team to ensure a safe and enjoyable lunchtime.
