Job summary

Maidenbower Junior School in Crawley is seeking a Midday Meals Supervisor to supervise pupils during the lunch break and help maintain safety and welfare. The role involves supervising in the lunch area, playground and classrooms, with 1:1 or small group SEN support as needed, and responsibility for lunchtime duties.

The position is permanent and term-time, with working hours 10 per week, Monday to Friday, 11.30am–1.30pm. Full safeguarding checks apply and timing aligns with school needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 or small group basis.
• Term-time only role with lunchtime supervision responsibilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in the lunch area, playground and classrooms.
• Encourage pupils to eat their lunch and report concerns to the class teacher.
• Help transport pupils between the school building and dining hall.
• Lead cleaning and clearing of eating areas after lunchtime, including the staff room.
• Set up and put away tables, chairs and equipment for eating in the lunch area.
• Manage pupils’ entrance and exit from the lunch area in an orderly manner.
• Clean up food and water spillages.
