Job summary

Milton Primary Academy in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a dedicated lunchtime supervisor to support pupils during midday break in the dining hall and on the playground. You will engage with children, promote healthy meals, and help maintain a safe, friendly environment in line with academy policies.

Key duties include supervising activities, reporting incidents, setting out equipment, cleaning dining areas, and assisting before/after school.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities and ensure health, safety, welfare and safeguarding during midday break.
  • Report incidents in line with academy policy.
  • Assist in supervising other midday break activities and set out/store equipment.
  • Encourage pupils to choose and eat healthy meals.
  • Clean dining areas and wipe tables between meals.
  • Undertake duties before and after school as required.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post.

The successful candidate will support the Milton team to supervise and support pupils during lunchtime both in the dinner centre and on the playground. We are seeking someone who can engage well with all ages of children, promote and set up outdoor play time activities and keep all children safe through following policies and procedures.

Main duties and responsibilities
Core Duties and responsibilities
  1. Supervising activities and maintaining health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding of pupils during midday break, having regard to special or additional needs.
  2. Reporting incidents in line with academy policy.
  3. Assisting in the supervision of other activities during the midday break, including setting out and storing equipment.
  4. Encouraging pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals.
  5. Cleaning up spillages of food or liquid during meal service.
  6. Wiping down tables and cleaning dining areas between meals.
  7. Undertaking similar work at other times, such as before and after school.
  8. Any other duties appropriate to the post.

The post holder is required to be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.

The post holder has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults during the course of their work. This post requires the post holder to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
