Job summary

John Henry Newman Academy in Littlemore is seeking a dedicated Lunchtime Supervisor to support pupils during the busy lunch period, ensuring they are safe, happy and well cared for.

You will supervise children in the dining hall and playground, encourage healthy eating, and promote positive behaviour within a friendly school community. Training in first aid and safeguarding is provided.

Qualifications

• Enjoys working with children and promoting well-being.
• Has good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual and proactive; willing to complete first aid and safeguarding training.

John Henry Newman Academy, in the heart of Littlemore, is a vibrant, happy and exciting place to be for children and their families. We are a two-form entry school for children aged between 3 and 11. The Academy serves the inner city of Oxford and the communities of Littlemore, Rosehill and Blackbird Leys.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervising children in the dining hall, playground, and during wet playtimes
• Encouraging healthy eating and good table manners
• Supporting positive behaviour and social interaction
• Promoting the school’s values and creating a safe, inclusive environment
• Administering basic first aid when necessary (training can be provided)

• Can be calm, patient, and proactive
• Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Holds or is willing to complete first aid and safeguarding training
