Job summary

Newborough CofE Primary School is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to join our caring church school community. The role covers 7.5 hours per week during lunch breaks across 38 weeks per year, with a permanent contract. You will support pupils, promote safety, and model our values during lunch periods.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, collaborative and able to follow the Behaviour Policy while maintaining confidentiality and helping create a positive lunchtime experience for all children.

Qualifications

  • Be enthusiastic, approachable and positive about contributing to the school community.
  • Ability to follow Behaviour Policy and tackle challenging behaviour with respect.
  • Promote healthy eating and good table manners among pupils.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the school's Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Help create a safe and welcoming lunchtime environment.
  • Support pupils during lunch breaks and manage playground issues fairly.
  • Respond to first aid incidents and assist with wet weather arrangements.
  • Demonstrate the school values and ethos during lunch periods.

Grade C3, £25,614 FTE, £4,355.91 actual per annum

We are looking for someone who
  • Is enthusiastic, approachable, friendly and positive about their contribution to our whole school community
  • Will strive to make the lunchtime experience for our children as positive as possible by building good relationships and responding to playground issues fairly
  • Understands how to tackle challenging behaviour in children with respect and understanding, following the school’s Behaviour Policy
  • Has high expectations of healthy eating and table manners and supports the children to develop good eating habits
  • Understands our children and our community and who is able to build supportive and respectful relationships with children whilst maintaining confidentiality and following the school’s Code of Conduct.
  • Is an energetic individual who smiles often, engages with the children and models our values and ethos at all times.
  • Is keen to support the ethos of a church school.
  • Is a collaborative, conscientious and hardworking team member
  • Can provide a safe environment for children, to assist across the lunchtime period, including problem solving of wet weather provisions and dealing with first aid incidents
  • Can shows initiative and creativity in different learning situations;

Newborough is a proud member of PDET, alongside 35 other schools in the Rutland, Peterborough and Northamptonshire area. PDET is responsible for employing all staff and managing the finances and other central services for the Academies in the Trust. These services include HR support; facilities and premises; procurement and school effectiveness.
