Job summary

Birch Hill Primary School, part of Maiden Erlegh Trust, is seeking a Lunchtime Controller to supervise pupils at lunch break and promote safety and positive play. You will help create an inclusive, caring environment and support children across year groups during lunchtime activities.

The role requires reliability, good communication, and the ability to work with children of varying ages, including those with additional needs. Term-time hours, with some flexibility, are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children and adults.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently when needed.
• Ability to develop positive, caring relationships with children of different ages.
• Comfortable supporting children with additional complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during lunch breaks across all year groups.
• Monitor activities to promote safety and well-being.
• Promote school values and positive behaviour during lunchtimes.
• Facilitate engaging games, clubs and activities for children.
• Record accidents in the accident book and inform staff for action.
