Job summary

Ark Blacklands Primary Academy is seeking a part-time Lunchtime Play and Engagement Leader to supervise and supervise pupils at lunch with a focus on safety and wellbeing. The role involves engaging children in play and caring for them during the lunchtime period on and around the school grounds.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, experience with children, and a proactive approach to creating a positive lunchtime environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, happy lunchtimes for pupils by engaging in play activities and caring for children during lunch in all areas inside and outside of the school
• Support pupils to participate in structured and unstructured play to promote wellbeing and safety

About the role:

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Lunchtime Play and Engagement Leader on a part-time permanent basis. This role will involve taking responsibility for ensuring safe, happy lunchtimes for the pupils at Ark Blacklands by engaging in play activities with and taking care of the children during the lunch time period in all areas inside and outside of the school.

The successful candidate will:

• Have good interpersonal skills
• Have experience of establishing positive relationships with children
• Have an enthusiasm for and an active interest in children's welfare and play
• Engage pupils in purposeful activity during the lunchtime (during both good weather and 'wet' lunchtimes)
• Be able to use their initiative and be open to new ideas
