Job summary

Storal is seeking a Lunchtime Assistant for Wragby Road Nursery in Lincoln to support children during lunch and learning activities. Part-time role: 15 hours per week, 11am–2pm, Monday to Friday, with pay £12.71–£12.90 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

Join a warm, nurturing environment where play-based learning and strong family partnerships shape daily routines. Ideal candidates hold Level 2+ in Childcare and have EYFS awareness.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Level 2 or higher in Childcare (desirable).
  • Experience with all age groups in Early Years settings.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lunchtime to ensure children are seated safely.
  • Support and encourage positive behaviour at the table.
  • Promote healthy eating habits and oral health.
  • Encourage independent eating and trying new foods.
  • Maintain hygiene routines, including handwashing.
  • Create a calm, friendly lunchtime environment.
  • Assist children who need help with eating or meals.
  • Monitor behaviour and ensure a safe atmosphere.
  • Communicate with parents when needed and provide feedback.

Hi, I'm Jo, the Nursery Manager at Wragby Road.

With 28 years of experience in early years education and an NNEB qualification, I began my journey as a Nursery Nurse and have since had the privilege of working with children of all ages—from newborns upwards.

I'm incredibly proud to lead a passionate and dedicated team who go above and beyond each day to support every child's growth, development, and happiness.

How You'll Spend Your Time Here

As a Lunch time assistant you will be a key part of keep our children safe, loved and inspired to learn. Key activities include:

  • Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring they are seated safely
  • Support and encourage positive behaviour at the table
  • Promote healthy eating habits and good oral health
  • Encourage children to eat independently and try different foods
  • Ensure children follow hygiene routines, including washing hands
  • Create a calm, friendly, and enjoyable lunchtime environment
  • Assist children who need help with eating or managing their meals
  • Monitor behaviour and ensure a safe, respectful atmosphere
  • Communicate with parents when needed, providing feedback on eating or behaviour
  • Help tidy up after lunch and ensure the dining area is clean
  • Support children in transitioning to their next activity after lunchtime
We'd love to talk to you if you have the following
  • An Early Years qualification at Level 2/3(not essential but desirable)
  • Experience of working with all age groups within Early Years settings
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework would be advantageous
