Job summary

The Old Station Nursery is hiring a Level 3 Qualified Lunch Cover Nursery Practitioner for part-time hours in Margate. You will work 11:00am–2:00pm, Monday to Friday, supporting children with play-based activities and EYFS delivery. DBS checks and right-to-work verification are required.

Salary is £13.25–£13.80 per hour, with perks including childcare discounts, holiday entitlement, and career development opportunities. Training and onboarding will be provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or QTS is required.
• DBS checks and essential qualifications will be verified during onboarding.
• Right to work in the UK will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, fun, and nurturing environment for children.
• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Monitor and celebrate development milestones and share records with parents.
• Support day-to-day nursery operations, maintaining hygiene, safety, and care.
• Guide apprentices and volunteers as a team member.

About our Nursery

The Avenues Montessori Nursery is situated in the charming Cliftonville area of Margate. Our nursery features two well-equipped and stimulating rooms, designed to provide an optimal learning environment. With free-flow access to a garden space, children have ample opportunities to explore and discover at their own pace. The Avenues Montessori Nursery is situated on Northdown Road, Cliftonville and is only a short walk from Margate town centre. Parking is available on the roads close to the nursery.
