Overview

LSA (Sports Coach)

Are you an energetic and dedicated LSA or Sports Coach with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN)? This is a unique opportunity for you to use your background and passion for sports to develop bonds with students and support their academic and personal needs.

The school
  • Based in Preston
  • Children are aged from 11 to 16 years old
  • A brand-new alternative provision with the unique opportunity to make your mark and shape the future of the business
  • Children who attend the school have ASD, ADHD, SEMH (social, emotional and mental health difficulties) and display challenging behaviour
  • Children are rewarded for attendance and good behaviour
The role
  • Full time role: you must be available from 08:30 until 15:30 each day
  • Assist in facilitating general classroom activities
  • Coaching in a variety of sports
  • Supporting children who have ASD, ADHD and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health difficulties)
  • Promote attendance
  • Deescalate challenging behaviours
  • Providing some 1-2-1 support where required
  • Providing curriculum and emotional support to the children
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working in a similar setting
  • Have experience of supporting children and young adults who display challenging behaviour
  • Have an extensive sporting background
  • Hold coaching qualifications or degree in sports coaching
  • Possession of a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
