Job description

NHS Grampian - Transport Driver (Cat C1)

General Service Driver required for the Transport Department at NHS Grampian.

The position involves transporting supplies, stores, equipment, and laundry across NHS Grampian. Adhering to manual handling regulations, the role includes loading and unloading cages, pods, bags, containers, and other loads as required, as well as stocking the vehicle for daily runs.

Flexibility with working hours and days is essential, depending on service needs. Drivers must always be polite and courteous to staff, customers, and the public. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided must be worn at all times.

Additional Responsibilities
  1. Hold a full Class C1 Licence, CPC Card, and Tachograph Card, with driving experience preferred. No DR10.
  2. Carry out vehicle checks, report mechanical defects, and maintain vehicles to a high standard following proper procedures.
  3. Check loads for accuracy and ensure efficient loading/unloading at designated points.
  4. Ability to manually handle heavy loads.
  5. Undertake training to develop skills and progress.
  6. Maintain a proactive attitude towards road safety and perform other reasonable duties as required.
  7. Be punctual, reliable, well-presented, and possess good face-to-face communication skills.
