Job Description

Are you a safety-first problem-solver ready to repair, replace, install, and maintain Structured Cabling, Fiber Optics, Access Control, and Video Surveillance systems for businesses and government facilities? We’re seeking experienced Low Voltage Electricians with a passion for assisting customers with their technology needs. The ideal candidate has the technical skills to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various problems, understands the importance of safety, and ensures all work complies with local safety codes. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Running CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, Low-voltage Access Control, and Fiber Optic cables in both inside-plant and outside-plant environments.
• Installing cabling in commercial buildings, including above acoustical ceilings, below raised floors, and in attics and crawl spaces where necessary.
• Using ladders and aerial lifts as needed (must be comfortable with heights and confined spaces).
• Utilizing manholes and hand holes for underground installations.
• Installing conduit, including EMT, Rigid, and PVC conduit.
• Installing end-devices such as phones, video cameras, door locks, wireless access points, and others.

Other Duties:

• Operating company vehicles to travel to customer locations (must have a valid Driver's License).
• Using basic hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, hammers, and drills.
• Using specialty tools such as fiber optic fusion splicers, cable testers, and OTDRs.
• Working independently and as part of a team.

Other Requirements:

• Communicating respectfully and efficiently with team members and clients.
• Maintaining a clean, orderly work environment and cleaning up after tasks.
• Presenting a professional demeanor to clients.
• Working safely from step ladders, extension ladders, and aerial lifts.
• Familiarity with general construction processes and ability to select appropriate fasteners and hardware.
• Documenting work and using basic business software for work reports and timesheets.

Compensation: $40,000 - $60,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

• Interpreting and applying electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Ensuring wiring complies with all building codes and safety regulations.
• Installing cabling and components, testing to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshooting and testing cabling systems and components to restore services promptly.
• Working from ladders, scissor/boom lifts, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills, tact, and courtesy when dealing with customers.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in all weather conditions.
• Passing a background check required for federal contractor employment.
