Phoenix Energy Group Limited invites you to join a friendly, industry‑leading utility team as a Low Carbon Heating Analyst in Belfast. You will monitor the Hybrid Heat Pump Programme, review data, and prepare updates for internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires a degree and at least one year in a data, research, economics, or policy role, with strong analytical and written briefing skills; a commitment to delivering clear, concise insights to support energy transition.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level.
  • One years’ experience in data analysis, research, economics, government policy/public affairs or equivalent.
  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills with ability to communicate complex analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering succinct, structured written briefings.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly reviewing monitoring data for the Hybrid Heat Pump Programme and preparing updates for stakeholders.
  • Undertaking in-depth analysis of installed hybrid heat pumps to support reporting and independent review.
  • Engaging with energy transition colleagues and providing research‑driven perspectives on challenges and opportunities.
  • Monitor public policy developments across regions to develop actionable insights for the business.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary forums to progress low carbon heat workstreams and research projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regularly reviewing the monitoring data from the Hybrid Heat Pump Programme to identify issues as they arise and prepare regular updates for key internal and external stakeholders including the Department for the Economy and the Utility Regulator
  • Undertaking in-depth analysis of the performance of the installed hybrid heat pumps to support the drafting of detailed operational reporting and facilitating the independent review of the results by an independent academic evaluator
  • Engaging with, and challenging, operational and strategic energy transition colleagues and provide research driven and analytical informed perspectives on the issues, challenges, and opportunities relevant to advancing low carbon heat goals
  • Monitor low carbon heat related public policy developments in Northern Ireland, Ireland, the UK and across Europe to develop insights that empower the business to act decisively in a rapidly changing industry.
  • Regular participation in multidisciplinary collaborative forums, featuring internal and external partners to progress the successful delivery of low carbon heat workstreams including joint academic/industry research projects.
Essential Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level
Essential Experience
  • One years’ experience working in either a data analyst role, a research role, an economist role, a government policy/public affairs role or equivalent.
  • Strong qualitative & analytical skills, along with the ability to communicate complex analysis
  • Demonstratable experience delivering succinct, structured, written briefings.

We were established in 1996 to bring natural gas to the Greater Belfast area of Northern Ireland, where there was previously no natural gas distribution network.

Since 1996 local, national and international partnerships have delivered an investment of over £500 million into the Northern Ireland economy and the wider natural gas industry now provides employment to over 2,500 people.

We continue to invest in infrastructure that currently has in excess of 256,000 domestic and business customers connected, and continues to grow at around 8,000 new customers each year.
