Job summary

Beta, an energy utility oragnisation in Belfast, seeks an analyst to support low carbon heat initiatives and monitor policy developments. You will review monitoring data from the Hybrid Heat Pump Programme, prepare updates for stakeholders, and contribute to detailed reporting and academic reviews.

Essential qualifications include a degree and at least one year in a related analytical or policy role, plus strong written briefing skills and the ability to communicate complex analyses clearly.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level.
  • One year's experience in data analysis, research, economics, government policy/public affairs, or equivalent.
  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills with ability to communicate complex analysis.
  • Experience delivering succinct, structured written briefings.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly review monitoring data from the Hybrid Heat Pump Programme and prepare updates for stakeholders including the Department for the Economy and the Utility Regulator.
  • Analyse performance of installed hybrid heat pumps to support operational reporting and independent evaluation.
  • Engage with energy transition colleagues and provide research-driven perspectives on low carbon heat challenges and opportunities.
  • Monitor public policy developments in NI, Ireland, the UK and Europe to develop actionable insights.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary forums with internal and external partners to progress low carbon heat workstreams.
