Loss Adjuster/Property Surveyor – Subsidence Team, London

The role:

We currently have an opportunity for building professionals to join our Subsidence Team within our Subsidence Services Division, in both the Northeast and Southeast areas of England.

You will enjoy the flexibility of working from home while conducting site visits with policyholders. You will work closely with team members and service providers, managing a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims from notification to conclusion, dealing with diagnosis, mitigation, and repairs. Our service uses digital technology for remote diagnosis and meetings across the UK, or on-site visits in your local area. Candidates should be comfortable with both, depending on capacity requirements.

Requirements:

• Chartered building professional qualification (e.g., MCIOB, MRICS, MICE) and ideally an insurance qualification (e.g., CILA or CII).
• Knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings.
• Ability to diagnose causes of subsidence or other damages.
• Understanding of mitigation techniques for subsidence damage.
• Knowledge of repair techniques for damaged buildings and drainage.
• Experience in insurance claims handling is advantageous but not essential.
• Decisiveness, excellent communication, and empathy skills.
• Proficiency with IT, Microsoft packages, Apple apps, Windows, and Apple hardware.
• Knowledge of CDM and Party Wall legislation.
• Ability to work remotely, plan workload, and provide professional advice.
• Full UK driving license.
