Job summary

General Teaching Assistant position at a welcoming school in Prescot, Merseyside. This full-time, long-term supply role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, term-time, with pay of £110 per day.

You will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing, helping create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where children gain confidence and reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• Patience, approachable and nurturing disposition.
• Confident working as part of a team and taking direction from teaching staff.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, reliable and adaptable.
• Right to work in the UK; available full-time, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Helping pupils access and participate in learning activities.
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
• Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation of resources and displays.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime duties.
