Job description

We are working with a primary aged setting in Redditch seeking a SEND teaching assistant, with experience supporting pupils with SEND needs. Experience supporting non-verbal or pre-verbal children who are autistic or awaiting formal diagnosis would be ideal, as this will be a 1-to-1 role in lower primary.

About the Role

1. Location: Redditch
2. Focus: Supporting children with SEND, particularly non-verbal or pre-verbal autistic children
3. Type: Long-term, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30
4. Pay: From £89 (PAYE) per day, paid weekly in arrears
5. Start Date: Immediate or September 2025 for the right candidate

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Deputy Head/SENCo to ensure appropriate support for the child
• Support pupils with special educational needs, including those with autism or awaiting diagnosis

Requirements

• Experience in supporting children with SEND, including non-verbal or pre-verbal children
• Experience in school, EYFS, support, or residential settings is desirable
• Willingness to undergo DBS checks and compliance procedures
