Job summary

Education First Recruitment invites applications for a Cover Supervisor role at a Southwark primary school. You will deliver pre-planned lessons and support pupils in the absence of the class teacher, maintaining a calm, engaging learning environment throughout the day.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in primary settings and demonstrates patience, resilience and strong teamwork to help pupils progress academically and socially.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering pre-planned lessons in a primary setting.
• Ability to support pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication with staff, pupils and families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS/KS1/KS2 when the class teacher is absent.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils with learning activities and SEN needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support as required.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff.
• Follow lesson plans and adapt activities to individual pupil needs.
• Help uphold high expectations for behaviour and engagement.
• Assist with pastoral duties and wider school responsibilities.
