Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting on behalf of a friendly and inclusive primary school in Lewisham for an enthusiastic Early Years Play-Based Learning Assistant to join their EYFS team from September. You will support children in Nursery and Reception with play-based learning indoors and outdoors, helping with early phonics, communication, literacy and numeracy, and building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

This is a long-term, full-time role in a welcoming school community.

Qualifications

• Experience in EYFS or UK primary school setting.
• Passion for Early Years education and child development.
• Patience and enthusiasm.
• Ability to use play to support learning.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children in Nursery and Reception.
• Delivering engaging play-based learning activities indoors and outdoors.
• Assisting with early phonics, communication, literacy and numeracy development.
• Encouraging independence, creativity and confidence through play.
• Supporting children with a range of learning needs to access the curriculum.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
