Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a confident Science Teacher to join a secondary school in the St Helens area from January 2027 until July 2027. The role covers KS3/KS4 and GCSE preparation, with duties including planning, marking and assessment in a full-time capacity.

The ideal candidate holds QTS or equivalent, will deliver Biology, Chemistry or Physics content, and demonstrate effective classroom management and safety in the science laboratory. Immediate apply available.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
• Strong knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
• Able to deliver GCSE Science content
• Experience delivering practical Science lessons safely

Responsibilities

• Teach Science across KS3 and KS4
• Deliver Biology, Chemistry and Physics content
• Plan practical and theory-based lessons
• Develop pupils' scientific knowledge, enquiry and analytical skills
• Support GCSE Science pupils with examination preparation
• Assess progress and provide constructive feedback
• Differentiating lessons to meet different learning needs
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and high expectations
• Follow laboratory health and safety procedures
• Work collaboratively with Science department colleagues
