Job summary

Coventry Public Schools is seeking a Long Term substitute 7 hr/day Building Paraprofessional at Coventry Public Schools.

Must hold a Teacher Assistant Certification and have passed a praxis exam OR have a teacher Assistant certification and Associates OR at least an Associates degree in education. This is a union contracted 180 day position with compensation according to contract. Rate of Pay: $19.40 Step 1 pay

Qualifications

• Must hold a Teacher Assistant Certification and have passed a praxis exam OR have a teacher Assistant certification and Associates OR at least an Associates degree in education.
• Prior experience in a comparable position preferred.
• Certified in CPI; if not certified, training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transitioning students into the general education setting.
• Collect and monitor data as part of a behavior plan.
• Work with a diverse team of teachers.
• Support students who may have emotional and physical outbursts.
