Job summary

Perplexity is expanding its global footprint and seeks a Site Lead for London to build and scale our engineering presence. You will shape the site culture, recruit and mentor infrastructure and AI infrastructure teams, and drive technical excellence across systems that support AI workloads.

You will report to senior leadership and partner with product, research, and operations to deliver a high-velocity, reliable infrastructure platform in a fast-growing tech company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in infra/AI infra.
• 3+ years people management and building scaling teams.
• Proven track record establishing or growing a site/office.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure and large-scale deployments.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead Perplexity's London office and culture.
• Directly manage infrastructure and AI infra teams (5–15+ engineers).
• Set technical strategy and drive cross-site alignment.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, and reliability of infra for AI/ML workloads.
• Collaborate with global engineering leaders and stakeholders.
