Job summary

VirtueTech Recruitment Group in London is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a busy facilities management team on an onsite site. You will perform both planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services, with a focus on HVAC, pumps and pipework, while liaising with contractors and client stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining mechanical building services in commercial or FM environments.
• Recognised mechanical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ / apprenticeship).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, pumps, motors, pipework and related plant.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across building systems.
• Ability to work with contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance principles and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services.
• Monitor plant performance and identify reliability improvements.
• Coordinate contractors to ensure safe, high-quality work.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.
• Support maintenance planning to minimise building disruption.
• Carry out routine inspections to keep assets compliant.
• Maintain service records and compliance documentation.
• Provide technical support to facilities teams and client stakeholders.
• Assist with small works, upgrades and improvements across the site.
• Ensure activities comply with procedures and health & safety legislation.
• Share knowledge and support colleagues to promote a positive team culture.
