Job summary

Santander UK plc. is seeking a details‑driven finance professional to join the SCIB accounting team in London. You will safeguard monthly closing processes, ensure accurate registration of expenses and staff costs, and maintain robust controls across invoicing and payments.

The role collaborates with the Head of Accounting and the broader team to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting. The candidate will support VAT and Corporate Tax submissions, deliver P&L analysis for management

Qualifications

• Experience in an accounting department and control function.
• Experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
• Knowledge of SAP and financial systems.
• Understanding of treasury/wholesale products such as cash and funding instruments, derivatives, equities and bonds.
• Strong prioritisation and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient IT skills with common software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuity of BAU accounting and reporting, especially at month-end.
• Register administrative expenses and staff costs with strong controls over invoicing and payments.
• Produce P&L commentary and variance analysis for management review.
• Support intercompany reporting and budgeting processes with UK stakeholders.
