The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Development Underwriter for the London market. You will manage submissions, quotes and binds, develop broker relationships, and underwrite risk to support profitable growth across our Property & Casualty portfolio.

You will use strong analytical skills and industry knowledge to negotiate terms, assess risk, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This hybrid role offers in-office and remote working options under Travelers’ policy.

Qualifikationen

• Good knowledge of products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Analytical/critical thinking skills to underwrite, market products, and assess information.
• Strong communication and influencing skills for broker negotiations.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and cultures to achieve goals.
• Knowledge of industry/competitor press and trends.
• Experience in project management and implementing routine changes.

Aufgaben

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book across products.
• Underwrite and negotiate moderate risks to maximise profitability.
• Proactively manage portfolio and target new business and retention.
• Collaborate with Manager/Team on risk characteristics and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to write additional lines of business.
• Utilize technology platforms to quote and bind risk efficiently.
• Support underwriting reviews and manage action points.
• Build relationships with internal partners and across the enterprise.
• Maintain relationships with brokers via phone/email to market Travelers.
• Travel to meetings as required.
• Develop and execute pipeline plans and support renewal teams.
• Train and mentor less experienced underwriters.
• Provide support for junior team members and referrals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
