Job summary

M&G is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in London to own the design and delivery of scalable data products on a Snowflake-centric platform. You will lead engineers across the UK and India, shaping data standards and driving production-ready pipelines that enable AI, analytics and reporting.

You will guide design reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Data Product, Analytics and AI teams to ensure secure, governed data solutions. A strong background in asset management data is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data engineering, including a technical lead role within Asset Management or Financial Services.
• Strong hands-on experience building and optimising data pipelines and data products on Snowflake.
• Knowledge of modern data platform architecture, medallion/lakehouse patterns, ELT and data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on design and build of ingestion, transformation and data provisioning pipelines on a Snowflake-centric platform.
• Shape data engineering standards for ELT, orchestration, modelling, testing and observability.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership to data engineers across the UK and India, removing blockers.
• Coach and mentor engineers, promote reuse of data products and collaborate with offshore teams.
