Job summary

Hamilton in London is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to own the enterprise networking and Fortinet security infrastructure across offices, data centres, cloud, and remote-access environments.

You will provide senior technical leadership, manage incidents, drive architecture improvements, and collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security and Service Management teams to deliver secure, scalable connectivity for Hamilton's global operations.

Qualifications

• Progressive enterprise networking experience, including supporting enterprise firewall and network-security platforms.
• Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer with ownership of business-critical network infrastructure and security services.
• Demonstrated experience independently owning and supporting an enterprise Fortinet environment, including operational health, technical standards, lifecycle management, security controls, incident resolution, vendor escalation, and documentation.
• Advanced hands-on experience with FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiClient VPN and EMS, FortiAnalyzer, Fortinet Security Fabric, and high-availability technologies.
• Strong experience supporting Cisco Nexus routing and switching, with expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, static and policy-based routing, VLANs, QoS, NAT, DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and segmentation
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting secure enterprise network architectures across on-premises, Azure, and hybrid-cloud environments
• Experience with network automation and infrastructure as code using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, APIs, Git, and CI/CD tooling
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, diagnostics, reporting, and SIEM integration
• Experience participating in disaster recovery exercises, resilience testing, recovery validation, and business continuity initiatives
• Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and service-management practices

Responsibilities

• Server as the primary technical owner of Hamilton's global enterprise network and Fortinet security platforms across offices, data centres, cloud, and remote-access environments.
• Lead incidents and major changes, including firmware upgrades and hardware refreshes through change controls.
• Design, implement, and support enterprise routing and switching solutions using Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
• Maintain high availability connectivity between offices, cloud platforms, data centres, and third parties.
• Lead root-cause analysis of complex connectivity and performance issues.
• Design and maintain secure network architectures aligned with best practice and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical workstreams with minimal supervision, including after hours.
