Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding UK is offering an entry-level warehouse role within our busy UK site. You will support warehouse team leaders, learn health & safety procedures, and work with our warehouse systems and cargo handling tools on a 37.5-hour week.

We value initiative, teamwork and reliable delivery of tasks while you gain exposure to air, sea and rail freight operations and compliance requirements. Eligibility for our values-based development program is available.

Qualifications

• Clear and concise communication skills (written and spoken).
• Ability to follow processes.
• Ability to support a culture of continuous improvement.
• Inter-personal skills - influencing, communication, relationship management across teams.
• Knowledge of Freight Forwarding industry is desirable.
• Experience of HMRC procedures essential.
• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent) - desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting warehouse team leaders in daily operations.
• Learning health & safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments, and assisting Health & Safety representatives.
• Gaining experience across multiple internal and external systems.
• Understanding aviation cargo security requirements.
• Carrying out cargo screening activities.
• Using warehouse management systems.
• Packing and preparing goods for dispatch.
• Supporting warehouse improvement projects.
• Identifying cargo and correctly preparing it for export via different transport modes.
• Using mechanical equipment and carrying out equipment checks and defect reporting procedures.
• Identifying and resolving operational issues.
• Ensuring interactions comply with DPDHL Code of Conduct and other compliance requirements.
• Contribute to the First Choice continuous improvement program.
