Job summary

Alexander Steele are recruiting for a Transport Manager in Fife to lead the logistics operation for a growing FMCG business. You will manage a team of drivers and logistics professionals, drive service, efficiency, compliance and continuous improvement while owning end-to-end logistics.

The role focuses on delivering on-time performance, effective route planning, fleet standards, and strong cross-functional collaboration to optimise operations and customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within Logistics, Transport or Distribution Management.
• Previous experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong understanding of route planning, fleet management and operational logistics.
• A hands-on leader who enjoys being close to the operation.
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
• Transport, FMCG, food manufacturing or distribution experience would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Logistics and Driving teams.
• Drive employee engagement, retention, training and performance.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and on-time delivery performance.
• Oversee route planning, resource allocation and operational scheduling.
• Manage fleet standards, vehicle compliance and health & safety requirements.
• Monitor and improve key logistics KPIs.
• Identify and implement process improvements across the operation.
• Build strong working relationships across the wider business to enhance operational performance.
