Job summary

Magnet in Darlington is seeking a Logistics/Transport Assistant to support day-to-day transport and logistics operations. You will work with a 3PL and carriers, manage stock movements, and help keep delivery information up to date using SAP.

The role is a fixed-term 12-month contract, with Monday–Friday hours and occasional overtime. A strong team player with organisational skills is essential to succeed in this busy environment.

Qualifications

• Previous transport, logistics or supply chain experience.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to changing plans and priorities.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Experience using SAP or similar systems (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Supporting day-to-day transport and logistics operations.
• Coordinating stock movements, returns and transport requirements.
• Updating and maintaining delivery matrices and transport information on a weekly basis.
• Providing administrative support using systems such as SAP.
• Working closely with the UK Distribution Manager, transport providers, warehouse teams and Order Management.
• Responding to changing priorities and helping resolve logistical challenges as they arise.
• Ensuring transport activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

Role: Logistics / Transport Assistant

Reports to: UK Distribution Manager

Location: Darlington

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (4:00pm finish on Fridays) with occasional overtime by arrangement.

Salary: £27,000

Fixed Term contract for 12 months

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with logistics or transport experience who enjoys variety in their role. What you’ll be doing:
