Job summary

Magnet in Darlington is seeking a Logistics / Transport Assistant to support daily transport and logistics operations, coordinate stock movements and returns, and work closely with the UK Distribution Manager and transport providers. The role suits someone with logistics or supply chain experience, strong organisation and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

SAP experience is desirable.

• Responding to changing priorities and resolving logistical issues.
• Ensuring transport activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

Job description

Role: Logistics / Transport Assistant

Reports to: UK Distribution Manager

Location: Darlington

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (4:00pm finish on Fridays) with occasional overtime by arrangement.

Salary: £27,000

Fixed Term contract for 12 months

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with logistics or transport experience who enjoys variety in their role. What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting day-to-day transport and logistics operations.
• Previous experience with a 3PL and carrier environment would be beneficial.
• Coordinating stock movements, returns and transport requirements.
• Updating and maintaining delivery matrices and transport information on a weekly basis.
• Providing administrative support using systems such as SAP.
• Working closely with the UK Distribution Manager, transport providers, warehouse teams, branch colleagues and the Order Management team.
• Responding to changing priorities and helping resolve logistical challenges as they arise.
• Ensuring transport activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
