Job summary

Pertemps Isle of Wight are recruiting a Logistics Technician to join a busy team, supporting stock and inventory management, including receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods.

You will report to the Logistics Manager, receive deliveries, check documentation (Certificates of Conformance), complete inspection records, pack items for dispatch and maintain stock using SAP B1.

The role is a temporary 3‑month contract with potential extension; pay £13.36 per hour, with weekly or monthly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, stores or inventory management is required.
• Experience with ERP/stock management systems is expected.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with couriers and shipping agents is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries and book into stock accurately.
• Check delivery documentation, including Certificates of Conformance.
• Complete inspection records and report supplier performance.
• Safely pack finished goods and other materials for dispatch.
• Ensure correct documentation accompanies shipments.
• Pick stock against works orders to support production.
• Receive internally produced items and perform checks.
• Maintain stock levels and traceability using SAP B1 and in-house systems.
• Support stock counts and reconciliation of inventory.
• Maintain an organised, safe and tidy stores environment.
• Help maximise store space and improve stock flow.

Pertemps Isle of Wight are currently recruiting for a Logistics Technician to join our client on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Stores, Logistics or Inventory professional to join a busy team. The successful candidate will support the management of stock and inventory, including the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the stores and inventory function.

• Receiving incoming deliveries and ensuring goods are accurately booked into stock
• Checking delivery documentation and ensuring all required documentation, including Certificates of Conformance, is received
• Completing accurate inspection records and reporting supplier performance where required
• Safely packing finished goods and other materials for dispatch
• Ensuring correct documentation accompanies shipments
• Picking stock against works orders to support production requirements
• Receiving internally produced items into stock and carrying out relevant checks
• Maintaining accurate stock levels and material traceability using SAP B1 and other in-house systems
• Supporting stock counts and reconciliation of inventory
• Maintaining an organised, safe and tidy stores environment
• Helping to maximise the effective use of stores space and improve stock flow
• Supporting the development and improvement of operational processes
• Participating in process audits and continuous improvement activities

About You

• Previous experience within logistics, stores, stock control or inventory management
• Experience working with an ERP or stock management system
• Good computer skills
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Experience working with couriers and shipping agents
• The physical capability to lift and move boxes of stock
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
• The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
• The ability to work with minimum supervision and use your own initiative
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A flexible and conscientious approach to work
