Working closely with the Managing Director and Operations Director, you'll take ownership of day-to-day logistics, asset management, supplier coordination and operational compliance. You'll ensure our teams have the resources they need while maintaining effective controls over safety, expenditure and operational performance.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and introducing practical solutions and technology that make a difference to day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Logistics & Resource Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day coordination of the depot, yard, stores and operational support activities.
  • Manage materials ordering, stock control, deliveries and collections.
  • Coordinate plant, equipment and materials to support project mobilisation and contract delivery.
  • Maintain safe, secure and organised working and storage environments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve resource utilisation and operational efficiency.
Plant, Equipment & Fleet Management
  • Maintain accurate registers for company-owned and hired plant, tools, equipment and vehicles.
  • Coordinate statutory inspections, servicing, maintenance and certification, including PUWER, LOLER and electrical equipment requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure defective or non-compliant equipment is removed from service until appropriately assessed and released.
  • Manage plant and vehicle hire, allocations, collections and off-hire arrangements.
  • Coordinate vehicle servicing, MOTs, repairs, breakdowns and defect reporting.
  • Monitor asset utilisation and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Support the implementation of Semper's Health & Safety Management System across operational support activities.
  • Coordinate workplace, depot, yard and equipment inspections.
  • Maintain compliance records and support internal, client and external audits.
  • Monitor renewals for relevant company accreditations, licences and registrations, including NICEIC, Gas Safe, F-Gas, SafeContractor, Achilles and ISO certifications where applicable.
  • Track outstanding compliance actions and elevate significant safety or operational risks.
  • Work with appropriately qualified and authorised individuals on technical approvals and statutory compliance matters.
Supplier & Cost Management
  • Coordinate supplier relationships, obtaining and comparing quotations to support purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain supplier records and monitor service quality and performance.
  • Oversee expenditure relating to plant hire, fleet, materials, repairs and operational support.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve purchasing arrangements.
  • Ensure expenditure follows company approval procedures.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Support the implementation and adoption of AppCan and other approved operational systems.
  • Provide system onboarding, user support and training where required.
  • Identify technology and process improvements that enhance productivity, compliance and cost control.
  • Support the identification of relevant training, apprenticeship and innovation funding opportunities.
Reporting & Operational Performance
  • Maintain accurate reporting on asset compliance, fleet utilisation, supplier performance and operational expenditure.
  • Monitor inspection deadlines, accreditation renewals and outstanding audit actions.
  • Provide management with updates on operational performance, costs and areas requiring attention.
About You

You'll be an organised, commercially aware professional with experience managing logistics, plant, fleet or operational support activities.

You'll enjoy solving practical problems, managing competing priorities and improving how things work. You'll be confident coordinating with operational teams, suppliers and senior management, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and accountability.
